What others have to say about the Katyra Canine Centre...
" When people ask where we take Maddie when we’re out of town, we always say “the babysitter” because that’s a good description of the quality care and attention she gets when she stays with Kathy. Instead of being stuck in a cage all day, Maddie gets to feel like she’s part of the household, and it’s reassuring to know we’re leaving her with someone who not only has a lot of experience, but also clearly loves dogs. We recommend Kathy to all the dog owners we know."

"We have known Kathy since 2004 when Stuart came to our family. We have always boarded Stuart with Kathy (Katyra Canine Centre), wherever her location has been. When Stuart hears Kathy’s name he waits at the door and is ready to go. It is comforting to know that he is in excellent care and when he comes home he is a tired happy dog. No one loves dogs as much as Kathy!"

"WOOF-WOOF.... My name is Bronson and I am a chocolate lab. I have visited at the Katyra Canine Centre several times in the past few years and I LOVE it there! Kathy is WONDERFUL and is like my second 'Mommy'! She takes really good care of me (she even gave me my special medicine one sleepover) and I have so much fun playing with my dog pals there! We play outside in the fenced-in yard where there are lots of trees for shade. In the summertime, there is a kiddie pool with water so we can splash around and drink lots but Kathy will bring us inside if it's too hot or too cold in the winter. I have stayed there in the summer and winter from a single daycare visit and up to 6 weeks at one time. My Mommy sends my blanket with me to lay on in my crate for bedtime so it feels just like home. She also sends my favourite treats and my own food and dish. I know that my Mommy doesn't worry about me when I am there because I am very well cared for and I always come home really tired so that is proof that I have tons of fun! I really miss Kathy and my pooch-pals and I'm wondering when my next sleepover will be? Take it from me, Bronson-the-Lab, Katyra Canine Centre is the place to be if YOUR Mommy has to go away. Your tail will really wag too!!!!"

"I got my first dog ever this past December, an adorable little puppy. I had no idea how hard it would be to part with her when we went away in January.. Kathy made that first trip away so much easier and less stressful. I knew Naia was in good hands and she would be loved and cared for. Kathy was recommended to me by friends and since the first time I have taken Naia there, I have never looked back! I would never take her anywhere else. Kathy cares for her boarders or daycare dogs like they are her own. They have a huge yard to play in and can be outside all day, not stuck in a cage and let out occasionally. Naia is loved so much by Kathy when she is there, I don’t think she even notices we are gone! That is a true dog lover. I would recommend Kathy to anyone I know who wants a safe, loving and playful environment for their dogs to be in when they are away. "

"We began bringing our 2 dogs, Junior and Dharma, to Katyra Kennels in 2006. We instantly liked Kathy and all her animals and so did our dogs. They attended Katyra every Tuesday just for playing and hanging out. They also stayed there for sleep overs when we were out of town. I love that when we go away for a week, Kathy will email us pictures. We've been through a lot with Kathy, trouble shooting with Junior, late night calls about mysterious injuries. In 2009 Dharma became sick with cancer, more then ill she had a large tumour growing from betwen her eyes. Kathy was extremely supportive through the 5 month ordeal. Then after losing her, she helped us find a reliable breeder, from whom we now have Charliegh Waffles. Kathy and all her pets are an amazing part of our extended family and we feel very fortunate to have them as a part of our lives!"

"I have been bringing my Border Collie Monty to Kathy at Katyra Canine Centre since 2008. Monty goes to play with his dog friends for daycare every week and has been boarded for short and long stays throughout the years. My only concern was that he loved it there so much that he did not want to come home! Kathy and I are on the same page over the care and treatment of dogs, so the wonderful dog I drop off is the same wonderful dog I pick up. The home setting makes it easy to go away and have no worries about his well being. More recently, due to an unexpected death in the family, I have inherited a Pug named Erwin. He had limited exposure to other dogs at the time I got him but now absolutely screams with joy as I approach Kathy's house. A day of playing with Zoey the resident Pug is the highlight of his week! I tell people all the time how lucky I was to find someone like Kathy to care for my dogs."

"Hi, my name is Frankie I have been going to Kathy 's since I was 4 months old. I have a lot of energy so I get very excited when I get to go play with all my friends. When mommy comes to pick me up sometimes I even fall asleep in the car. Last month I got to stay with Kathy all week!! My mommy and daddy never have to worry when they drop me off Kathy looks after me just like I'm one of her own dogs. We highly recommend Kathy for a safe and fun stay."

"We have been bringing our "babies" Wiggles, Ruffles and Pickles to Kathy since 2008. We are lucky enough to get away usually 3 times a year, and can do so with complete confidence as we know Kathy is caring for our dogs for us.
Pickles is a diabetic pug, went through eye surgery and is a bit, shall we say, needy. Not only does Kathy manage the needles, eye drops, and whims of Pickles - she never hesitates to send us emails WITH photos to assure us that everyone is fine. Even better, she enjoys telling us about our dogs antics.
We cannot say enough good things about the care our dogs receive from Kathy."
